4Sync retires 4shared accounts support
New Year is coming, and usually it means changes. Year 2012 was a busy year for us at 4Sync. Many things changed for desktop application, and for mobile 4Sync. Now we want to focus on improving user experience, and want to make things simpler. In the coming weeks we will stop the ability to log in to 4Sync applications with 4shared accounts. This step is important for us to make 4Sync even more reliable and easy solution for keeping all your files in sync.
After December 24th, 2012 you won’t be able to use 4Sync with your 4shared account, but all your files will remain at 4shared. We are encouraging all current 4shared users to create a new 4Sync account and transfer all their files to this account.

Your instructions are confusing because they are vague and insufficient, at least to me. The email says “retire 4shared accounts support in 4Sync applications”. It sounds like 4shared is a sub-part of 4Sync.
I am registered as a 4shared user. When 4sync came out, it would not let me create a 4sync account. On my desktop, I switched programs from 4shared to 4sync months ago, so are my files in 4shared or 4sync? The instructions now say I need to move my files from 4shared to 4sync, but I can’t create an account at 4sync until after 12/24, and I need to transfer my files. Transfer them from 4shared to 4sync? How do I move my files from 4shared to 4sync? Move them from my computer up to 4sync? Or, since I am using 4sync program, maybe I don’t have anything to move?
Apparently, there are a few scenarios using 4shared and 4sync, and each one is to be handled somewhat differently.
Please spell out EXACTLY what a user needs to do. (I’ve been in IT for 30 years, including sys admin, so I expect if I don’t understand what to do, there may be others also.
Why don’t you just automatically transfer our files to 4sync, and save us the hassle?

The fact is that users registered on 4shared could use the same account for 4Sync. But now it’s no longer possible. For further using of 4Sync app users should create a new account on 4Sync. The plus is that they can use the same e-mail address for registration as for 4shared account. 4shared users only won’t experience any changes.

Dear Elinna, you don’t have to change 4shared to 4Sync. If you’re 4shared user only – nothing will change for you. If you use 4Sync and 4shared from 4shared account – you have to create a new account on 4Sync to have the ability to use the 4Sync service further.

Apart from inviting comments and then providing not responses, I think it is pathetic that people running a business like 4Shared can’t find someone who can look at this upcoming change in service from the standpoint of a semi-literate computer user and explain in plain, unequivocal English what to do to avoid an interruption in service. 4sync signs its own death warrant. The sweetness of 4sync was as a quick front end to 4shared. it was faster and better than the official 4shared desktop app. Now that these ties to 4shared are being cut, i dont see why any user needs 4sync. Simply put u guys are trying to reinvent dropbox. dont fix something if it aint broke

for clouding reasons, i have my stuff backed up in all kinds of places on different server providers. lot of data, lots of accounts. it’s getting frustrating day by day, believe me!
now, this shifting thing on 4shared cames to make the syncing situation even more complicated.

If you cancel the public sharing fuction,then 4sync will be the same as dropbox.
But if in this case(without public sharing fuction),dropbox is definitely way better.
As an existing 4shared user I don’t understand why I need to activate a new E-mail to create a 4sync account especially as I do not use a secondary e-mail address and don’t understand why I need to download, run and install an executable program to access shared data. I’ll give it a few months and return to see if problems are rectified but if ever a security alarm rang in my head it is now and hope that googledrives’ 5GB of free online storage coupled with an external backup will be sufficient to get me over this applications hopefully temporary woes.

For some reason, my folder is not being synced. 4Sync rants that the files are up to date, but my 4sync folder on the cloud has nothing.

This is to much going on for me. I might just delete my account. You can’t find a lot of music any way. What’s the use. Some music will not play or add to your play list. It is allways somethink wrong with 4share. Sucks it is confusing.

If you’re 4shared user only, nothing will change for you. You can upload and download files to your account and your previous files will remain safe. If you want to continue using 4Sync app and you used the same login for 4Sync account as for 4shared account, unfortunately you should create a new 4Sync account.

I am sick to death of 4shared. I bought avpremium account. It d should not have expired before mid January 1013. all of a sudden I do not have a premium account. I pay early for a premium account. Then with toe correct log in information I can not get into my account. I am told to wait 24 hours. Finally on another computer 24 hours later I can access my account. The links I send to share, work only for my computer. No one else can access my files. Today I try and create a new 4sync and I am asked what member am I. I am asked to log in. I do using the correct info and again I am told it is invalid and I have to wait 24 hours again. 4shared has caused me more greif in the last two weeks than you can imagine. I am sorry that I spent the money again for a premium account.

I apparently have a 4shared account or something. i didnt know that or dont remember setting it up. Either way i would like to disable it cause i dont use it or at least stop getting emails… is this possible? Cause the link attached to the emails don’t work.

What a mess! So being an early user who uses 4Sync from my 4 shared account I registered my 4Shared name with 4Sync (after 24/12 as advised) hoping that 4Sync would show my existing files. Not so!
Logging on my 4Sync folders were empty. I would have thought it a simple process to transfer files from people with 4Shared Logons to the new “site” that we have been forced to use.
Nothing for it but to resynch my laptop and resave everything to the web. After “synching” for about 18 hrs so far i have uploaded 392mb. At this rate in another week I may have my 2.5gb (that is already uploaded) reloaded.
In addition I am getting messages of “conflicted copies”. Conflicted with what – my forced 4Sync logon did not show any files on the web? Im also being advised of “Deleted” files when I haven’t deleted ahything.
So I have been forced to change from a perfectly adequate service to the “same” service but logging in through the 4Sync rather than 4Shared site. Because of this I need to upload all my files again, then I will need to parse the 3500 files to remove the conflicted and add back the deleted files…..
If anyone in 4Sync can simply copy my exsing files (or their links) and save me the continuiing drama please do so.
From a customer perspective this excercise has been highly unsatisfactory.

This totally contradicts all the prior instructions, that in 4sync you can create your account with the same login you used in 4shared.
Now you say if you did register 4sync with the same login as 4shared, you should create a new account on 4sync with a different login.

So 4sync is a completely seperate entity and this is just telling me to create an account for a new sercive and then reupload every file that is in my 4 shared account, I see nothing about transfer from one to another.
My 4shared account still seems intact and I have no idea what I needed a 4sync account for.

I got an email saying my 4shared account has either been expired or deleted so I clicked the button saying to reactivate my account. It then sent me to my 4sync account.Its says it will delete my files in 15 days. Help!?!

Its joined my opinion with most of the user of this application that you should reverse to the formal method of linking both 4shared and 4syn together. it makes downloads easier and faster. in that method any file you add to your account will automatically synchronised. please restore to that system.

I have 4sync on the two computers, and when I try to use the same account, 4sync corrupted my files, most of them are renamed “(conflicted….)”. Now I cannot find my files or folders! Does 4sync cannot synchronize the files on different computers?? Now I have a lot of problems with my files!!
